What is Hemodialysis?

Hemodialysis is a life-saving treatment for individuals with kidney failure. It mimics the kidney’s function by removing waste, toxins, and excess fluids from the blood. When the kidneys are no longer able to perform these tasks on their own due to chronic or acute renal failure, dialysis becomes necessary to maintain the body’s balance.

How Does Hemodialysis Work?

At BLK-Max, we use 32 advanced hemodialysis machines and an ultra-pure double RO system to ensure the highest quality care.

Step 1: A dialysis nurse or technician inserts two needles into the patient’s arm. Blood flows from the body through a soft tube connected to the dialysis machine.
Step 2: The machine filters the blood through a special filter and returns the cleaned blood back into the body. During the procedure, the machine continually monitors the patient’s blood pressure and other vital signs.

This process helps to remove excess fluids from the body, restoring balance to the bloodstream.

Candidates for Gynecomastia Surgery

This surgery is recommended for men who:

  • Have not achieved desired results from diet or exercise.
  • Are in good overall health and maintain a healthy weight.
  • Are non-smokers.
  • Have realistic expectations and are bothered by the enlargement of their breasts.
  • Are mentally prepared for the changes that may occur post-surgery.

When is Dialysis Needed?

Dialysis is required when kidney function drops to 10-15%, meaning the kidneys are unable to remove enough waste and fluids. Symptoms of kidney failure may include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Swelling
  • Fatigue

However, dialysis may still be necessary even if these symptoms are not present, as harmful toxins can build up in the bloodstream without visible symptoms. A doctor will evaluate your health and determine if dialysis is needed.
